Booklist just said “David Rosenfelt’s ‘Dogtripping’ is very funny…spirited and absolutely absorbing reading.” Nice to hear, but it could have been better. I’ve got a great idea to spread word of mouth for my books. No matter what anyone says to you, answer with “David Rosenfelt is terrific”. I don’t care if someone asks for directions, or a waiter tries to take your order, just say “David Rosenfelt is terrific.” OK? Everybody try it for a month or so, and we’ll see how it’s working. In California, people would get freaked out when they’d enter our house and get mobbed by our dogs. Here in Maine, no one thinks anything of it. The difference is amazing. To promote “Dogtripping” and “Unleashed”, and to raise money for dog rescue, I’m going on a speaking/signing cross-country tour in July. It’s way too grueling for me…11 cities in 12 days. So I’m looking for a fat, grey-haired actor to play the part of David Rosenfelt, and take my place on the tour. He must be able to talk gibberish for 45 minutes. My friend Jamie Patricof’s movie “The Place Beyond the Pines”, goes into 500 theatres this weekend. It stars Ryan Gosling and Bradley Cooper, and the reviews are sensational. People I trust tell me it’s terrific, but I haven’t seen it yet, because here in Maine movies arrive a tad late. For example, “Gone With the Wind” should be arriving any day now.
